STAGED MANDATORY WATER CONSERVATION
AND RATIONING (Schedule 14.1)
Golden State Water Company has activated Staged Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing filing (Schedule 14.1) for all water systems, following approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). This action adds new, more-specific outdoor irrigation restrictions for all customers, effective July 1, 2015.

“Given the severe drought in California, the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) has assigned reduction mandates in an effort to reduce statewide water use,” said Toby Moore, Water Resources Manager and Chief Hydrogeologist for Golden State Water. “Regulated utilities like Golden State Water are required to file Staged Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing plans that outline restrictions, water allocations and enforcement measures to help the communities we serve achieve the state’s reduction mandates.

Staged Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing – Public Meetings
Golden State Water hosted public meetings throughout our service areas to provide customers with information regarding Staged Mandatory Water Conservation & Rationing (Schedule 14.1). The public meetings also addressed statewide and local water-use regulations and resources available to improve water-use efficiency at your home or business.
The Staged Mandatory Water Conservation & Rationing (Schedule 14.1) filings outline restrictions, water allocations, enforcement measures and surcharges designed to achieve reductions due to water supply shortages or to achieve identified water usage goals established by an authorized government agency or official.
