Public Health Goals are the levels of a contaminant in drinking water below which there is no known or expected risk to health. Public health goals are set by the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA). These reports are unique to California, requiring extensive public reporting. At the online Public Health Goals meeting, Golden State Water Company water quality experts will present the 2025 Reports on Public Health Goals that provide consumers with information on levels of contaminants in their water system, even though they fall below the enforceable mandatory Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs). Additionally, Golden State Water will provide an estimate of the cost to reduce the contaminant(s) regardless of how minimal the risk might be.
