Ball Plant Iron and Manganese Treatment Project

Investment:
Over $2 million

Project Location: 5772 Ball Road in Cypress, California.

Project Timeline:
May 2022 – November 2022

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Add iron and manganese treatment
  • Modify plant piping and existing process to accommodate

This project will upgrade treatment facilities at an existing plant to ensure Golden State Water Company continues providing quality water service to customers.

West OC Fire Hydrant Replacement Project

Investment:
$1,370,000

The installation will be in the following locations: 39 locations in Rossmoor, 1 location in Los Alamitos, and 12 locations in Cypress (Pauline Dr, Margaret St, Rosemary Dr, Lime Ave, Orange Ave, Leilani Ln, Salisbury Ln, Ethel St, Christopher St).

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Replace dry-barrel fire hydrants and valve enclosures (approximately 50 locations in Rossmoor, Cypress, Los Alamitos).

This project improves service reliability to our customers by replacing aging infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life.

 Ruth Elaine/ Main Replacement Project
Investment:
$3,200,000

The installation will be in the following locations: Martha Ann Dr/Ruth Elaine Drive, From Silverwood Dr to Wallingsford Rd; Kensington Rd/Quail Run Rd, from Silverwood to Wallingsford; Donnie Ann Rd, Donnis Rd. to Wallingsford; Silverwood, from Martha Ann to Wembley; Shakespeare and Chesney from Martha Ann to Kensington; Donnis and Wallingsford, from Ruth Elaine to Donnie Ann

Project Timeline:
May 9, 2022 – March 2023

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Replace 12,000L.F of older 4-inch pipe with 8-inch PVC pipe
  • Replace 600 L.F of older 14-inch pipe with 16-inch DI pipe
  • Install 247 services
  • Install 24 6-inch fire hydrants

This project improves service reliability to our customers by replacing aging infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life.

Cherry Plant: Replace Backwash Tank
10941 Cherry Street in Los Alamitos, California.

Investment:
$1,260,000

May 2022 – September 2022

  • Replace filtration backwash storage tank and appurtenant process and drain piping

This project will replace the existing steel tank and backwash system appurtenances to ensure Golden State Water Company continues providing quality water service to customers.

Gay St. Pipeline Replacement
Gay St, from Crescent Ave to end of the cul‐de‐sac

Investment:
$650,000

Project Timeline:
June 7, 2021 – October 2021

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Replace 1,800 L.F of older 6-inch pipe with new 8-inch pipe
  • Install (5) 6-inch fire hydrants
  • Install additional (46) 1-inch services

This project is required to ensure Golden State Water provides reliable service to local customers by replacing the existing old pipelines that are anticipated to be reaching the end of the useful life.

Belmont & Sumner Area Mains Abandonments Project
Sumner Pl. between Crescent Ave. & Merten Ave., Belmont St. between Crescent Ave. & Merten Ave. and La Salle St. between Crescent Ave. and cul-de-sac at the south end of La Salle St.

Investment:
$415,000

Project Timeline:
April 2021 – September 2021

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Abandon a total of 5,800 L.F of 4-inch pipe located inside private properties and transfer (66) domestic services to the street frontage
  • Install (20) additional domestic services
  • Install additional (66) new customer house lines (new meter/s to existing connection point/s)

This project is required to ensure Golden State Water can continue providing reliable water service to local customers.

Rustic/Stacie Main Installation Project​

Construction crews will work to:

  • Install 300 LF of new 8-inch PVC pipe to connect the existing 8-inch main on Stacie Ln with the existing 6-inch main in Rustic Ln

This project is required to ensure the quality and reliability of service to local customers by eliminating dead-ends in the pipe system.

Saint Ann Main Replacement
Saint Ann Ave. from west of Walker St. to Cypress Ave.

Investment:
$670,000

Project Timeline:
October 2020 – Mid-December 2020

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday

Construction crews will work to:

  • Replace 1,400 LF of older 6-inch pipe with new 8-inch PVC pipe
  • Install 56 one-inch services
  • Install 1 six-inch fire hydrant

Howard Ave. Main Replacement

We appreciate the community’s patience as crews worked to complete the first phase of the project, which was delayed by wet weather and other unanticipated challenges.

Phase 2:
Scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2020. During this phase, crews will work to construct individual house lines to the new meter locations along the street frontage in order to abandon the old alleyway main located north of Howard Avenue between Reagan and Bloomfield.

Phase 3:
The schedule for the final phase of construction has not yet been determined. During this phase, crews will work to construct house lines and abandon the alleyway main located north of Howard between Bloomfield Street and Lexington Drive.

Investment:
$2.8 million

Working Hours:

  • Install 7,500 LF of pipeline
  • Install 7 hydrants
  • Install 181 services

Crescent Main Replacement

Lanett Area Main Replacement Project
The following streets will be affected: Lanett St., between New York Ave. and Alaska Ave.; cul-de-sac’s Lolina Lane and New Mexico Lane; Belday St., between New York Ave and Alaska; and New York Ave. from Moody St. to the end of the street.

$1.9 million

Project Timeline:
June 22, 2020 – October 2020

Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Replace 3,500 LF of older 6-inch & 4-inch pipes with new 8-inch pipe
  • Install 10 hydrants
  • Install 86 services

  • Install 4,000 LF of pipeline
  • Install 4 hydrants
  • Install 64 services

Construction crews worked to:

  • Recoat the interior of a 1.5 million gallon reservoir
  • Install safety appurtenances on the interior and exterior of the reservoir

These improvements extend the useful life of the reservoirs and allow for their continued safe operation, enabling Golden State Water Company to continue to provide reliable, quality water to our customers.
