Is the program free?

There is no cost to you. As part of our commitment to water conservation, all assessments, installations and materials are fully funded by Golden State Water.

When does the program expire?

The program is available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be modified or terminated at any time without notice. Funds are limited, and not all customers will qualify for all products and services.

Who is eligible to participate?

  • This pilot program is being made available to Golden State Water customers in the following areas:
    • Central Basin East – Portions of Artesia, Cerritos, Downey, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, Lakewood, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Norwalk, and Santa Fe Springs

    • Central Basin West – Portions of Bell, Bell Gardens, Compton, Cudahy, Hollydale, Huntington Park, Paramount, South Gate, Vernon, and Willowbrook

    • Southwest – Gardena, Lawndale, and portions of Carson, Compton, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Inglewood, and Redondo Beach

    • San Gabriel – Arcadia, El Monte, Irwindale, Monrovia, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, and Temple City

  • Single-family homes.
  • Renters with permission from their landlord.

Do I need to own my home to participate?

No, both homeowners and renters are eligible. However, landlord permission would be required if you are a tenant.

What is the process to get started?

  1. Schedule a no-cost home energy assessment appointment with Synergy Companies at 1.800.818.4298.
  2. A trained technician will evaluate what water efficiency upgrades can be installed.
  3. A technician installs water efficiency upgrades in your home at no cost

How long does the appointment last?

Most home assessments and installations take 1- 3 hours, depending on the size of your home and the number of upgrades.

Will this affect my utility bill?

No. Participation in the program will not change your utility rates. In fact, the installed upgrades can help you reduce your water usage.

Is there paperwork involved?

Minimal paperwork is required to schedule your appointment. You must provide basic household information such as a full name, home address, phone number, etc. Once the paperwork is complete, you will sign a form confirming that the work was performed in your home.

Who performs the upgrades?

The installations are performed by Synergy’s professional installers who are authorized by Golden State Water Company and trained to install energy-saving equipment safely and efficiently.

Are the products under warranty?

Yes. One year of labor and a 5-year warranty for manufacturing defects.
