Church Well No. 25 – Arden Cordova

Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure in Arden Cordova

Post

Golden State Water Company is committed to responsibly maintaining local water infrastructure so we can continue providing customers with premium water service so they never have to think twice about the quality of their water. To fulfill this commitment, we are making proactive investments to upgrade water supply and delivery facilities, creating sustainable, long-term value for the communities we serve. These forward-looking investments help prevent the costly and sometimes dangerous impacts of deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure, while ensuring a resilient water system for the future.

An example of an investment in water infrastructure in your local area is the recently completed Church Well No. 25 project. The project included drilling, constructing, and equipping a new potable water well capable of producing up to 750 gallons per minute. The well is approximately 17 inches in diameter and extends about 400 feet below ground. This new facility replaces a nearly 69-year-old well that reached the end of its service life.

The Cordova system relies on a combination of local groundwater wells and treated surface water from the American River to meet customer demand. The new well strengthens water supply reliability, particularly during periods of drought when surface water supplies may be limited. Starting service in June 2025, the new well enhances system resilience and helps ensure safe, reliable water for customers now and for years to come.
