More than $4.1 million in infrastructure improvements are planned for 2020 in the Culver City service area.

Baldwin Hills Site Map

Baldwin Hills Water Quality Project/Hetzler Road
Hetzler Road from The State of California Park Gate to Jefferson Blvd.

Investment:
Over $1.5 Million

Project Timeline:
May 11, 2020 – July 30, 2020

Working Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

In Phase l, Construction crews will work to:

  • Install over 1300’ of new 8” Ductile Water Main
  • Install one new fire hydrant in Hetzler Road from Tompkins Road to Jefferson Blvd

In Phase ll, Construction crews will work to:

  • Install new piping, electrical equipment and pump building and appurtenances

This project will improve the distribution system and ensure Golden State Water can continue providing reliable water service to local customers.

Washington Boulevard Area Main Replacement 
Washington Boulevard from Helms Avenue to Sentney Avenue

Investment:
$2.019 million

Project Timeline:
Aug. 26, 2019 – April 2020

Project update: As of March 5, 2020, GSWC has installed the new water main and is continuing to run the connections at each intersection off of Washington Boulevard. 

Working Hours:
Washington Boulevard:
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Residential Streets:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

*Night work may be scheduled for certain construction periods

Construction crews will work to:

  • Install over 4,600 feet of pipe
  • Install 14 hydrants
  • Install 94 services

This project will improve the distribution system and ensure Golden State Water can continue providing reliable water service to local customers.

Rudman Area Main Replacement 
Construction will take place on the following streets:  Overland Avenue south of Sawtelle to Playa Street; Playa Street to Stevens Avenue; Sawtelle Blvd., west of Malat to Overland Avenue; Rudman Drive, Sawtelle to Playa Street; Greyridge Drive Sawtelle to Playa Street Kingston; Sawtelle Blvd., to Flaxton Street.

Investment:
$1.5 million

Project Timeline:
Aug. 6, 2019 – March 17, 2020

Working Hours:
Residential Streets:
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Overland Ave., Sawtelle Blvd. and Playa St.:
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Construction crews will work to:

  • Install over 4,405 LF of pipe
  • Install 97 services

This project will improve the distribution system and ensure Golden State Water can continue providing reliable water service to local customers.

Baldwin Hills Storm Drain Replacement

Oct. 1, 2018 – November 2018

Working Hours:
7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Monday to Sunday

Construction crews worked to replace the existing storm drain.

This project increased the capacity of the storm drain and eliminate potential hazards from future storm runoffs.

Corryne Place from Slauson Avenue to Sepulveda Blvd.; Slauson Avenue from Selmaraine Drive to Sepulveda Blvd; and Jefferson Blvd. from 405 Freeway to Slauson Avenue.

Project Timeline:
June 18, 2018 – October 31, 2018

Working Hours:
8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Corryne Place

9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Slauson, Jefferson and Sepulveda Blvd.

Construction crews worked to:

  • Install more than o.3 miles (1,771 LF) of new PVC pipe
  • Install water services
  • Install fire hydrants

This project ensures Golden State Water can continue providing reliable water service to local customers.
