Holabird East & West Tanks Project – Calipatria

Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure in Calipatria

Post

Golden State Water Company is committed to responsibly maintaining local water infrastructure so we can continue providing customers with premium water service so they never have to think twice about the quality of their water. To fulfill this commitment, we are is making proactive investments to upgrade water supply and delivery facilities, creating sustainable, long-term value for the communities we serve. These forward-looking investments help prevent the costly and sometimes dangerous impacts of deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure, while ensuring a resilient water system for the future.

An example of an investment in water infrastructure in your local area is the recently completed Holabird East & West Tanks project. The Holabird East and West Reservoirs, each 1.1 million gallons and constructed in 2003, were found during inspections to have multiple deficiencies, including structural, seismic and safety concerns, corrosion issues.

The project included blasting and recoating both tanks, repairing and replacing rafters, widening foundations to meet current seismic codes, and performing additional safety and health upgrades. Completing these improvements ensures compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations, extends the reservoirs’ service life, and strengthens the reliability of water delivery for the Calipatria community.

These proactive enhancements are consistent with Golden State Water Company’s mission to provide safe, high-quality, and reliable water service now and into the future.
