Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure in Los Osos

Post

Golden State Water Company is committed to responsibly maintaining local water infrastructure so we can continue providing customers with premium water service so they never have to think twice about the quality of their water. To fulfill this commitment, we are making proactive investments to upgrade water supply and delivery facilities, creating sustainable, long-term value for the communities we serve. These forward-looking investments help prevent the costly and sometimes dangerous impacts of deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure, while ensuring a resilient water system for the future.

An example of an investment in water infrastructure in your local area is the recently completed Jack Ranch Reservoir project, which supports the Edna Road water system in San Luis Obispo County. The new above-ground 250,000-gallon storage tank was constructed to enhance system capacity and service reliability. Additionally, the reservoir will improve fire suppression efforts by maintaining adequate water supply and pressure during high-demand situations. Also, as the tank is elevated, it uses gravity to provide consistent water pressure throughout the Edna Road system, improving overall service performance for homes and businesses.

The new reservoir will also enhance system reliability. It provides a secure and readily accessible water supply during emergencies such as power outages, drought conditions or other unexpected disruptions. The tank was placed into service in mid-November 2025, and final construction has been completed.

Through proactive investments like the Jack Ranch Reservoir, Golden State Water continues to strengthen its water infrastructure, enhance system reliability and uphold its commitment to providing safe, reliable water service for generations to come.
