Jeffries Plant 1.25-Million-Gallon Reservoir and Booster Station – San Gabriel

Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure in San Gabriel

Post

Golden State Water Company is committed to responsibly maintaining local water infrastructure so we can continue providing customers with premium water service so they never have to think twice about the quality of their water. To fulfill this commitment, we are is making proactive investments to upgrade water supply and delivery facilities, creating sustainable, long-term value for the communities we serve. These forward-looking investments help prevent the costly and sometimes dangerous impacts of deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure, while ensuring a resilient water system for the future.

An example of an investment in water infrastructure in your local area is the recently completed Jeffries Plant 1.25-million-gallon Reservoir and Booster Station project. A 2019 water storage analysis conducted as part of the Master Plan determined that the South Arcadia System required approximately 1.24 million gallons of additional storage capacity. Because the Jeffries Plant site had sufficient space, a new 1.25-million-gallon water storage reservoir was constructed to meet this need.

As part of the project, a new booster station equipped with three pumps was constructed to pump water from the reservoir into the distribution system to meet system demands. A new emergency generator was also installed to provide backup power during outages. Since the site is surrounded by homes, the booster station was enclosed within a building to help dampen operational sound.

In addition, a new 8-foot-tall tubular steel fence was installed around the perimeter of the Jeffries Plant site, replacing the previous 6-foot wooden fence and improving overall security. The new fencing enhances visibility from the street while providing better protection for the reservoir, booster station, generator, and existing on-site well.

Completed in August 2025, this project provides a secure site housing new and existing water facilities that improve system reliability and ensure the South Arcadia System is better equipped to meet customer demand. While most of the company’s reservoirs are painted desert tan, this new reservoir was finished in a light shade of blue to blend more naturally with the skyline.
