Mentone Main Replacement Project – Culver City

Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure in Culver City

Post

Golden State Water Company is committed to responsibly maintaining local water infrastructure so we can continue providing customers with safe, reliable water service they can depend on every day. To fulfill this commitment, we are making proactive investments to upgrade water supply and delivery facilities, creating sustainable, long-term value for the communities we serve. These forward-looking investments help prevent the costly and sometimes disruptive impacts of deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure, while ensuring a resilient water system for the future.

An example of an investment in water infrastructure in your local area is the recently completed Mentone Main Replacement Project. This project replaced approximately 170 domestic water services and 5,580 linear feet of 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch cast iron water mains that were, on average, 95 years old. The work took place along Motor Avenue, Mentone Avenue, Keystone Avenue, and Overland Avenue within the Culver City water system.

The existing pipelines experienced multiple leaks in recent years, highlighting the need for replacement. The newly installed pipelines improve system hydraulics and enhance overall reliability for customers. Construction of the project was completed in October 2025, strengthening the Culver City system and helping ensure dependable water service for years to come.
