Willow Pass Road Pipeline – Bay Point
Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure in Bay Point
Golden State Water Company is committed to responsibly maintaining local water infrastructure so we can continue providing customers with premium water service so they never have to think twice about the quality of their water. To fulfill this commitment, we are making proactive investments to upgrade water supply and delivery facilities, creating sustainable, long-term value for the communities we serve. These forward-looking investments help prevent the costly and sometimes dangerous impacts of deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure, while ensuring a resilient water system for the future.
A recent example of water infrastructure investment in your area is the completed Willow Pass Road Pipeline project. This project included the installation of approximately 1,700 linear feet of 12-inch and 8-inch diameter pipeline in critical areas of the water system, along with new pressure regulating valve (PRV) stations to establish a new pressure zone.
The new zone combines the existing Marcia Booster Zone and a portion of the Hill Street Reservoir Zone along Water Street. By creating this new pressure zone, the project increases water pressure availability for customers in the Marcia Booster Zone and enhances overall system reliability.
Completed in 2025, the Willow Pass Road Pipeline delivers several important customer benefits. The new pipeline creates a loop within the water system, allowing water to flow to service areas from multiple directions. This improves reliability and helps maintain service during maintenance activities or emergency repairs. The project also improves water quality by reducing stagnation and enhances fire suppression capacity by increasing the system’s ability to draw water from multiple pipelines, minimizing pressure drops during high-demand water events such as firefighting.
